Past Corps Members
Sydney Pritchard
Sydney was a senior studying Linguistics with a double minor in Applied Behavioral Science and Speech-Language-Hearing during her Corps term (Fall 2022-Spring 2023). She worked with the LEAD UP program, which provides leadership and college preparation to underrepresented youth.
After graduating KU in May 2023, Sydney began a public health graduate program through the KU Medical Center.
Monty Coash-Johnson
Monty was a first-year studying Secondary Education during his Corps term (Fall 2022-Spring 2023). Monty served with the ThrYve program (a KU-led youth violence prevention initiative) on the school and social media teams.
After serving with ThrYve during the Spring 2023 semester, Monty went on to work in a foster home for queer youth.

Chrishayla Adams
Chrishayla was a senior studying Sociology and African Studies during her Corps term (Summer 2023). Chrishayla served with The Voter Network, an organization focused on creating a culture of informed and enthusiastic Kansas voters, and the Kansas African American Affairs Commission.
After completing her Summer 2023 Corps service, Chrishayla moved into a Resident Assistant position with KU Student Housing.

Claire Hardman
Claire was a senior studying Strategic Communications with a minor in Sociology during her Corps team (Spring 2023-Summer 2023). She was both part of the Student Community Action Corps and an AmeriCorps member for United Way of Kaw Valley and KU Student United Way. She helped facilitate the engagement of KU students with community-based organizations and other forms of public service.
After completing her Corps and AmeriCorps service, Claire started a full time job with the Leavenworth Public Library.
Hannah Davis
Hannah was a senior majoring in Supply Chain Management and Entrepreneurship during her Corps term (Fall 2023). Hannah served as part of the Student Community Action Corps and as an AmeriCorps member for United Way of Kaw Valley and KU Student United Way. Hannah worked closely with Student United Way to promote community engagement and public service.
After serving with the Corps and AmeriCorps, Hannah began preparing for a term with the Peace Corps.

Nafiza Akbar
Nafiza participated in the Student Community Action Corps through her junior and senior years (Fall 2022-Spring 2024). Nafiza served as a Corps member for ThrYve, a KU-led youth violence prevention initiative.

Ari Riley
Ari was a freshman studying Political Science on the pre-law track during her Corps term focused on youth civic engagement and nonprofit support (Summer 2023-Summer 2024). During this time she worked with both the United Way of Kaw Valley and the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence.
As a result of connections made as a Corps member, Ari went on to work directly with the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence and joined the United Way of Kaw Valley's board of directors as a KU student representative.

Ariana Siddique
Ariana was a second-year Microbiology student minoring in Spanish with interest in continuing her education in medical school during her time in the Student Community Action Corps member (Summer 2023-Summer 2024). Ariana served with LEAD UP, which supports the mentorship of youth and increasing the accessibility of college for students.
Ariana presented on her LEAD UP experience at the IMPACT National Conference in February 2024! She also received the Jennifer Alderdice Homecoming Award in 2024.

Charlie Cottle
Charlie Cottle was a freshman at the University of Kansas majoring in Exercise Science during his term as a Corps member (Fall 2024). Charlie served with the KU Center for Service Learning as a Civic Engagement Specialist to support student voter engagement during the 2024 election.

Elle Zinn
Elle was a freshman studying Global and International Studies and Applied Behavioral Science focusing in Community Health and Development during her term as a Corps member (Fall 2024). Elle served with the KU Center for Service Learning as a Civic Engagement Specialist to support student voter engagement during the 2024 election.

Cat Phuong Tran
Cat was a freshman studying Behavioral Neuroscience during her term as a Corps member (Summer 2024-Spring 2024). Cat served with the KU Center for Service Learning as a Strategic Service Recruitment Specialist in a position supported by KU Transition to Postsecondary Education.

Bethel was a biochemistry student on the pre-medical track during her Corps term (Fall 2024-Spring 2025). Shea served as a Corps member for ThrYve, a KU-led initiative that supports a community-level approach to prevent youth violence by empowering youth and families to thrive.

James Pressdee
James was a junior majoring in Biology and minoring in Spanish during his term as a Corps member (Fall 2024-Spring 2025). James served with LEAD UP, which supports the mentorship of youth and increasing the accessibility of college for students. James worked directly with youth and helped direct, recruit and fundraise for the LEAD UP student organization in order to include more KU students as program volunteers.

Natalia Duarte
Natalia was a freshman majoring in Psychology with a minor in Applied Behavioral Science focusing on Early Childhood during her Corps term (Fall 2024-Spring 2025). Natalia served with the Community Children's Center, an organization that bridged the gap in available, accessible, and affordable high-quality early childhood care for kids 0-5 in the Lawrence community. In addition to supporting the community children's closet, Natalia supported Spanish-language translation efforts, participated in meetings with the site social worker, and helped ensure effective communication with Spanish-speaking families.

Emma Coffey
Emma was a sophomore majoring in Journalism with a minor in Atmospheric Science during her Corps term (Fall 2024-Spring 2025). Emma served with the Community Children's Center, an organization that bridged the gap in available, accessible, and affordable high-quality early childhood care for kids 0-5 in the Lawrence community. In addition to supporting the community children's closet, Emma’s work focused on welcoming families into the playgroup, assisting with front desk reception, coordinating appointments, and meeting with families donating items to the Center. She also contributed to developing and supporting programming that fostered community connection.
