The Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics has announced the start of its 2026 programming year with a slate of events, programs and exhibits that feature conversations reflecting on the nation’s history, culture and future in honor of America at 250. Programming also will include other timely discussions on public service leadership, world and military history, and socioeconomic issues.

KKFI 90.1’s She Talk Wha? featured a powerful conversation with Christina Holt, Assistant Director at KU’s Center for Community Health and Development; Zach Newby, Prevention Specialist at The Sexual Trauma and Abuse Care Center; and Bre Kirkhart, Director of Housing and Economic Justice at the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence. Together, they explored how housing policy plays a critical role in preventing sexual and domestic violence and shaping safer communities.

The University of Kansas will host its 113th Homecoming from Oct. 2 to Nov. 2, culminating with the KU football game against Oklahoma State on Nov. 1 at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. The university and local communities have several opportunities to get involved.
