University to celebrate Civic Learning Week @ KU

LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas will celebrate Civic Learning Week @ KU from March 9 to 13 with a slate of events for KU students and others in the Jayhawk community who are interested in learning more about community engagement and civic leadership opportunities at the university and beyond.

“What I know from working with students is how much they want to connect with and give back to communities they care about,” said Emily Vietti, associate teaching professor and Center for Service Learning civic engagement faculty fellow. “Sometimes, for many different reasons, students have trouble finding those opportunities. Civic Learning Week @ KU was designed to connect students to the skills, information and opportunities they need to do effective community leadership work — and to start now.”
