Biography —
Stephanie Ruppen is a Program Coordinator in the Center for Service Learning at the University of Kansas. She offers coaching sessions to undergraduate students, collaborates with prospective campus and community partners, and promotes service learning and civic engagement across various populations. Stephanie is especially passionate about holistic wellness, intersectional leadership, and identity development. Steph is the lead instructor for UNIV 492: Special Projects in the Community (3-credit service learning course) and Service 101 (one-time workshop to help Jayhawks get involved in community & civic engagement). She is also advisor to student-led service organizations, Center for Community Outreach, Alternative Breaks, and Student United Way.
She leverages her background in clinical psychology and project management to help individuals and communities identify their personalized goals and choose the strategies that work best for them. Ultimately, Stephanie works towards ensuring independence and sustainable solutions for the people she serves.
Prior to her role with the Center for Service Learning, Stephanie was an Educational Program Coordinator with the Self Engineering Leadership Fellows (SELF) Program in the KU School of Engineering (2022-2024).
