The Student Service Learning Scholarship is available to undergraduate students taking a semester-long UNIV 492 Local class (not associated with Alternative Breaks) and completing 40 hours of volunteer service with a nonprofit community organization during the same semester.
Up to six scholarships are awarded per semester and applications are accepted during enrollment the previous semester. Priority will be given to applicants demonstrating financial need and/or whose volunteer work will be completed with an organization that addresses social inequality.

One student is honored for showing civic commitment, community awareness, and positive community impact through service learning, as well as the academic impact and personal development through service learning. Recipients receive $500 award.
The Service Showcase is an opportunity for students to share their service projects and experiences with the University community and Lawrence community partners. We are seeking students who have completed service projects or placements that have made an impact on them as students and has benefited the community. This event will provide students an opportunity to network with service-minded professionals, practice their presentation skills, and add additional experience to their education portfolio. All KU students are invited to submit proposals. This event is held in conjunction with the Service Celebration event held every April.
Monetary awards will be available for winning posters.
The application form will open early Spring semester, but you may fill out a nomination form such that students receive further instructions once the application is open. Please fill out the student’s (or your) name here.
